Artist’s Statement

Peggy was born and raised in Montreal and completed her formal education at Concordia University and the Alberta College of Art and Design. Before beginning her career as a professional fine artist, Peggy was an established commercial artist and photographer. She co-founded the Calgary-based EVA Group, now in their 7th year of successful fine art shows.

Peggy paints in the pastel medium, and has been influenced by the works of de Grandmaison, The Group of Seven, and Horace Champagne. The pastel medium lends itself to her style, capturing the subtleties of nature’s tones and textures. Her paintings are realistic depictions of the places and scenes closest to her heart and she, “…hopes people view my work with fondness and recognition of favourite places, and with anticipation of the discovery of new places.”

Her work is found in corporate and private collections across Canada and the United States.
